CUNY Catch program at LaGuardia is a transitional program, serving adolescents who are incarcerated and preparing for release, as well as those who have already been released. This program, which is an alliance between LaGuardia Community College, Bronx Community College, and Medgar Evers College, provides outreach and career counseling at Rikers Island, and post-release services on campus. Along with the integration of learning and work, family participation, and general health issues and referrals, the program’s emphasis is on academic and vocational training, career development, and preparation for entry into the labor market.

The College Prep program provides workshops and individual counseling sessions with prospective college students about how college studies can help them meet their personal and professional goals. GED requirements are covered as well as general information about higher education in the U.S.

LaGuardia’s specialized GED Prep courses, offered during the day, evening and weekends, serve the needs of various populations, including working adults, adults interested in health careers, veterans, people who want to get a college degree, Spanish speakers, Deaf and hard of hearing adults, out-of-school youth, and parents and grandparents.
